Jordan Cook: The Member Behind the Billionth Shot.
On a quiet Sunday afternoon, July 21st, at precisely 1:34 PM local time in Sydney, Australia, Jordan Cook stepped up to the 7th hole at Beverly Park Golf Club. Unbeknownst to him, the 31-year-old Sydneysider was about to make history with his second shot on the hole. With an 8-iron in hand, 145 yards from the pin, Jordan hit what would become the billionth shot tracked by Arccos.
It wasn’t a jaw-dropping hole-in-one or a booming 300-yard drive. It was a solid, everyday 8-iron shot—a fitting symbol of the real, relatable journeys many golfers experience. The billionth shot wasn’t about perfection; it was about the persistence and progress that define our passion for the game.
To mark this incredible milestone, we reached out to Jordan to learn more about his story and how Arccos has played a role in his golfing journey.
From 15 to 10: A Handicap on the Decline
When Jordan first started using Arccos just over a year ago, he was hovering around a 15 to 16 handicap. Fast forward to today, and that number has dropped to around 10—a testament to his dedication and the power of data-driven insights.
Jordan recalls how it all began: “A year ago, I was sitting around a 15 or 16 handicap. Then I got the PS5 game, and it had a little promotion on it. I did some research, easily signed up, and ended up getting one sent to me. I loved it [Arccos] straight away.”
His love for sports stats, whether in cricket, baseball, or golf, naturally drew him to Arccos. “In sports, and since I was a kid, I’ve been obsessed with statistics—seeing player stats for all sports like cricket, baseball, or golf. And being able to see your own personal stats with Arccos is really cool.”
A Self-Taught Golfer with a Passion for Data
Despite never having taken a formal golf lesson, Jordan has found Arccos to be an invaluable tool in his self-improvement journey. “I’ve never had a proper golf lesson, so being able to see what’s working and what’s not—and comparing it to what a scratch golfer does through numbers—is very helpful!”
Jordan’s goal is to break into single-digit handicaps, and with the data and insights Arccos provides, he’s confident he’ll get there.
But for Jordan, golf is about more than just numbers; it’s about the camaraderie on the course too. He’s managed to get some of his friends to join the Arccos community, turning friendly rounds into competitive stat-tracking sessions.
“There are a couple of guys that use Arccos at my course as well. We’re all comparing each other’s stats, so it’s pretty cool!”
Celebrating a Major Milestone
We’re thrilled to have reached our billionth shot and couldn’t be happier that it was Jordan Cook who made it happen. Congratulations, Jordan, on being our Mr. 1 Billion! As we look forward to the next billion, who knows—maybe you’ll be the one to hit that 2 billionth shot. Keep tracking, keep improving, and we’ll see you on the course!
